We start this circular trail of linear walks with 4 short walks on the northern fringes of this rural area.Get the 10:57 Tonbridge train and alight at Nutfield. Up over the Greensand Ridge and down into Nutfield Marsh with pub/picnic at the Inn on the Pond.Could be very muddy especially along the long approach to Merstham Station.Buy return ticket to NutfieldUpdate:Train to Nutfield will be an hour later ie 10.57 from East Croydon. This is because the Station Pub is no longer open for coffee and the walk to the lunchtime pub (The Inn on the Pond in Nutfield Marsh) is short about 2.2 miles.
