Surrey Ramblers

Welcome to this website of the Surrey Area of the Ramblers Association.

Surrey Ramblers started in 1984. We have 16 walking groups with total membership over 6000. With regular walks from 3 to 20 miles, there is something to suit everyone. Don’t worry if you are unsure of your ability or haven't walked with a group before, we are all friendly, helpful and welcoming. All you need to start is a pair of stout shoes or boots.

As well as day walks we have group walking holidays, walking weekends and social events and also run leadership and map reading courses, which are free of charge.

Surrey Ramblers is not just a walking club. We work closely with Surrey County Council to maintain footpaths, replace damaged stiles with kissing gates and even install simple bridges. We keep a watching brief on footpath diversion applications and anything that affects where we walk. We can raise legal objections where necessary.

For a single subscription of £43.00 you can walk with any group in the country and receive the quarterly “Walk” magazine. In addition you can get a discount on equipment from some shops by showing your membership card.

Walking keeps you healthy in both mind and body.

We hope you will come and join us.
